The Nova Scotia Dental Association (NSDA) is pleased to announce Dr. Claire Karst as the new association President for the 2024-2025 year!
Born and raised in Newfoundland, Dr. Karst received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University in 1990. The following year, she founded Elmsdale Dental Clinic, where she currently practices alongside her brother, Dr. Andrew Kim.
A member of the East Coast Endodontic Study Club, Dr. Karst is keenly invested in continuing dental education and completed studies in occlusion using the Pankey Philosophy in 2007. She is also an active volunteer with the NSDA, serving on the Nominations and Fee Guide Committees, as well two terms on the NSDA Governing Council. Additionally, Dr. Karst served six years with the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia (PDBNS) on the Complaints Committee.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and travelling.
